Lacazette says that he was safe from being sold in the summer

The French striker wasn’t having the time of his life last year with the gunners and it was rumored that he would be transferred to another team during the summer transfer window. He is now delighted that he is still with the London-based club.

According to the striker himself, there was no move planned whatsoever for him to be transferred during the summer, as the club has insisted that he was a part of their plans for the future. Having played a season for the gunners that wasn’t the best of his career, he also was hit with an injury and that lead to transfer rumors.

But this didn’t stop the former Lyon striker to fight for his position on the squad. While giving talking to Arsenal Player he said, “When first I think of Arsenal, it was when Titi Henry played for Arsenal and scored goals. Now I’m there so I want to make the fans happy. “

“I signed for Lyon at 10. At seven they wanted me to sign but my dad said, ‘it’s too early, you need to learn with your friends and just have fun’.”

“I needed the next step. A few years ago I talked with Arsenal but it was not a good time. When they came I was so happy and the discussion with Arsenal and the club was so quick, and with me it was so quick. I’m happy because I know now the league, I know my players, my team-mates. The club is happy because this summer they didn’t want to sell me; they told me ‘we are happy to have you in the team’.”

While scoring 17 goals in 39 matches in all competitions last season, he will be hoping to break the 20-goal barrier this season.
